what is the best movie format to burn?

    I know there is diffrent movie format's like avi,mpeg,divx.Which one has the best picture quality?i been using avi,very poor quality.

    2. AVI has the best quality if you set everything up properly. The downside is you are limited to special standlones or computer playback. MPEG2 comes in second followed by MPEG1

    You're quite correct. AVI is a "Lossless" format. The others are compressed formats, so therefore "lossy" formats.

    I would suggest that your source AVI file is perhaps of poor quality to begin with.

    Clarification: AVI is lossless only if it is PURE AVI or is encoded using a Losslesss codec (huffyuv). Note that "common" AVI files that are downloaded etc, are lossy (using the MPEG4 codecs in most cases).
