hi all i want to know what is the best program to use to make avi files to dvd ..i have used avi to mpeg converter to change the file to mpeg..i like this program cause u are able to crop ur movie so u can get rid of the black border above and below so many movies you download but nero still has to transcode it which can take hours...bonus to the program though even though you can use it only 30 times b4 you pay for it by just reinstalling it again (no need to unstall first) it gives you another 30 times so basically you use it for free
i have have a few other avi to dvd programs but as far as i can tell none let you crop..
so what i am asking is what program out there will let me crop a movie as well as turn it into dvd format that nero will burn with the need to transcode it
    thankyou to any help
also easy to use program would be great as some are way to hard for me to understand lol

    howdy doody nubi...
you gots my last post for da night 'fore to bed i goes.
nero is a special program which is cherished by many of the users on this site, for its high compatability, reliability and ease of use.
what you are speaking of is well done in nero, the reason for such long transcoding period is most likely your CPU, get a program called PcBoost from PGWare, it boosts your computers performance by allocating more CPU resources to a currently running program (no config needed :))
other programs which are good are:
    >Sony DVD Architect (slower transcoding)
    >Intervideo WinDVD Creator (probably the fastest encoding program for making DVD's)

i guess you should give WinDVD Creator a try, come to think of it, it is probably the best software i have come across for making DVD's.
ph well, look at the time...
    g'nite nubi...
    :) -YAWN!!!
