i am looking for the best video convertor on the market, and i will pay for it if it will do as it says it will. i want it to be able to convert any video format i throw at it, and convert it into any video format i wish for. does anyone have any suggestions? i mainly need it for some video authoring i am doing for a company, but personal use as well. i need it a lot for quite a few MKV files. i am trying to get them converted to VOB, but like i said, this is just one of the purposes i need it for. i need it for all formats available at the time. can anyone out there help me please. i am finding all the $35 video convertors, but i dont know if they work like they should. i want a reliable, very trust worthy program on my . i am spending thousands of $'s on video editing software, but i want a video convertor in a reasonable price range. someone please give me some suggestions. thank you guys!!!!!!!
Hi scrapesky, I've personally found that the best video converter out there is one called SUPERĀ©. It's a totally free piece of software that is very versatile and, yes it will convert .mkv to .vob. The dropdown box in the above shows a complete list of file types it converts to. This is the download link: http://www.erightsoft.org/GetFile.php?SUPERsetup.exe It can be a little slow (barely) and there are a lot of settings but once you've selected the output type the default settings are quite effective.
for converting mkv's I use effectmatrix total video converter, it handles almost every mkv I throw at it. It also handles almost every FLV file, which is the main task I use it for. I've been using it for about 6 months on my XP computer and it is the main converter I use, for me it works reliably where other converters fail.
Try the one I suggested in your other post, ffmpegx http://forums.afterdawn.com/t.cfm/f...od_audio_track_for_video_file-817992/#4943582 A free one would be HandBrake, which does a pretty good job on Mac and Windows.
http://avidemux.darwinports.com/ an option.. may be updated since then. just possible you could run the linux version also, but wouldn't know about that.
I think this Free video converter by iwisoft can help you. I have used it. It can actually convert any video and audio among all formats, as well as convert video to image and edit video. and it's freeware. http://www.easy-video-converter.com
