I would like to know what is the best way to backup a DVD-9 with many episodes, like 24, Smallville and so on to a DVD-4.
Is it better to rip every episode in a DVD to DVIX and then burn them into a DVD or just copy the entire DVD ?
Which option can produce a higher quality ?
Can those guides in AfterDawn like "Copy a DVD-9 to DVDR with DVDXPlatinum" - http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd9_to_dvdr_with_dvdxplatinum.cfm or "Copy entire DVD-9 movie to a single DVD-R using DVD Shrink" - http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd9_to_dvdr_with_dvd_shrink.cfm
copy a DVD wihh many episodes or just DVD with a main movie ?

    Regards

Quality will be reduced any time one stuffs the content from a dvd9 disk to a dvd5 disk. However, using the deep analysis and quality settings in DVD Shrink, one ends up with a perfectly acceptable backup imho. Yes the guides you mentioned will work, although I personally would use Shrink since it's free. There are also guides here as well: http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/guides.htm

You can also split the episodes apart onto 2 dvds to maintain the original quality, although you will run into possible menu problems. Search this site for info.
