i have been doing the reading and simply want to know the most user friendly proggy to backup a VHS onto a DVD.
I gather that the quality will not be that good because it is going from analog to digital and so I was wondering if there is a program that will tweak this.
Also I wondered if this is hard on a burner in that VHS tapes move so slow?
I am simply looking for a user friendly proggy and know what hookups I need to purchase.

My Burner is an external Benq 1621, 2.0 USB and I am very happy with it.
My notebook is Toshiba satellite, 1.9ghz, 512 RAM, Intel Pentium 4, Mobile processor 68% unused on my HDD and I also have a Western Digital 160 gig storage device.

    I welcome suggestions.
I have just mastered doing backups with Clone DVD, DVD Shrink and Any DVD and now want to get into transferring my VHS collection onto DVD format, however I am concerned if it will put a large strain on the Burner.
What would be the best program and method of hooking it up, bearing in mind that I want something usr friendly. I am not looking for editing but do want to get the best reproduction that I can.

    Thankyou

    Canopus ADVC-300, with WinDV software.
    Canopus Procoder.
    DVDLab Pro or Sonic Scenearist.
    Nero 6 burning software.

    Bring $$$$

If you want, it can be done much cheaper, but you'll still have to buy some hardware, and learn how to use the software effectively.

I been using ULEAD VIDEO STUDIO SINCE VERSION SIX.
I also use NERO since it came on board. I do not use ROXIO because it sucks.
I one of you previous questions I said that I am using ADS VIDEO XPRESS together with ULEAD MOVIE FACTORY and ULEAD VIDEO STUDIO 9.
I just finished converting (from VHS to DIGITAL) CLUB PARADISE and THE NET. Works flawlessly.
Stay away from CANOPUS and those other more expensive software (CANOPUS, VEGAS,etc.), you donĀ“t need it, unless your are a professional.
I edit music and movies, make my own musical movie DVDs and this is what I recommend.

    Good luck
