This is what I noticed after backing up one of my dvd's. It starting skipping alot and pixilating on my xbox. So I took out the disk to check for smudges. It was clean, but what I did notice is that it looks like there is a tiny tiny line around the entire disk, like if there was no burn there, but then it looks like it finished off with the burning. Dont know if that makes sense to you. I then tried it on my stand alone, and it worked great, with no skips. I guess the xbox is picky at times. You know how you can tell the written part of the disk, well, towards the end, there was like a minor skip, but then it did finish off the writing all the way towards the edge. What is this?
What brand of discs are you using? If you can, let us know what the media code is, too. What speed are you burning them at? Also, what program are you using to burn your dvds?(Burning Rom)
Yes, Xbox's can be very very picky. I've seen 'em play DVDR (both - and + formats) but not CD-Rs. Kinda unusual... Anyway, I'd not burn to the edge of the disc if you're experiencing problems like this. Keep it under 4300 MB or so. Once I had a burner that kept burning bad discs and there was always an unburned line that was random on the disc, looked like someone took a marker and just drew a line on all my discs. What it was was a hair on the lens. As soon as I got that out I was burning like a pyro again.
Media: TYG01's Have burnt over 100 disks. Just caught this one that it was like that. Maybe it had a dust particle? It plays fine on my stand alone, but i just wanted to ask what this line was. Oh, and I do not burn to the full edge. I have it set up to 4360. Thanx!
