    Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim are the top choices. Ritek, Fuji or anything made in Japan is also good media. Stand clear of Memorex or anything made by CMC Magnetics. This is very poor media.
    Don't burn at fast speeds either. Try burning only at 4x. This will greatly reduce the number of errors you recieve when burning.

    as dakotafan stated, i will have to concur~ :)

    also, i have the pioneer dvr-109 as well, MAKE SURE you use GOOD media as i have had VERY poor results with crappy media, the drive is somewhat picky about this; just use GOOD media to begin with and you will not have to learn about it the HARD way as i have in the past~ :)

    check my sig. for recommendations, but dakotafan put it pretty concisely~ :)

    cheers

    If you don't want to buy from the net, I'm sure there's a Best Buy near. They have SONY DVD+R's made in japan that code out to be TY02,which is Taiyo Yuden. They go on sale now and then.

    :)

    don't mean to correct you invasian, but sony dvd+r made in japan will DEFINITELY NOT id as TYG02s~ :)

    the TYG02 media ID coding is for 8x dvd-r ONLY~ :) the sony dvd+r that you are referring to are YUDEN000T02, while they are BOTH Taiyo Yuden produced, the media ID are completely different~ :)

    didn't want to confuse kirriejim any further, so i made it a point to correct you on your post invasian~ :p

    @kirriejim,

    High quality media are genuine Taiyo Yuden (authentic Yuden can be found on the 8X DVD+R Fuji & Sony "Made In Japan"), Verbatim (MCC003 & MCC004), Maxell (Made In Japan) and Ritek. These are top notch media and you can't go wrong with them.
