hi all just a quikie, The wife wants some speakers and a sub woofer for the desktop anyone got any good recomendations regarding packages etc basically a speaker set with woofer at a reasonable price! in the uk, all she wants to do is watch movies etc but with a great sound! help would be great guys, dont forget limited budget. I am picky. My opinion is that there are none. Your best bang for the buck it to get a stand alone amp and speakers. Then pipe you computer into the Aux port. You will pay lots more for lots less if you get a computer speaker. I wouldn't pay more than 100 USDs. After that you are throwing your money away. Enough for my soap box. Look at the stats and see if you can find a place where you can hear them. To be HiFi you woffer needs to have a lower than 20 hz low responce. That is the base. I doubt that you will find a computer speaker that does that. My 15 USD ear buds do 5 Hz. That is HiFi!
