Well, the thing is that for the longest time I had been using dvdxcopy platinum to make backup copies of my dvds and was very satisfied with it. Because of the fact that the copies copies could be played anywhere and the program already had everything included...like compression, etc.

But I downlo9aded Anydvd, dvd43, css + region free and I think that maybe one of those programs might have set something off on my dvd platinum because when I try to copy a movie, I get an error message saying that the movies is css encrypted and that version of copy platinum cannot backup css encrypted movies.

So now I'm wondering what other program I can use that is similar to dvdxcopy platium. One that can copy special features, trailers, includes compression, etc.

Or if someone knows how I can fix my dvdxcopy platnim, I'd really appreciate it :)

    Thanks!

Anydvd, dvd43, css + region free. Don't they all basically do the same thing? Presumbably you must have had something along those lines installed before for dvdxcopy to work if it doesn't support CSS. Most retail discs other than porn will be protected.

    You could try DVDShrink.

DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink is definately the way to go. I've had nothing but excellent results. Both are free, and WAY better than that DVDXCOPY crap.

That is so true. I just use Anydvd and Dvd Shrink, sometimes Decrypter. But hopefully those other like css free were in trial mode. Because you downloaded apps that do the same thing.

what help? just disable copy protection so you could then use dvdxcopy?

Like we all said, ditch dvdxcopy. its one of the worst copy programs there is. Try DVD Shrink. It is free and 100% better than xcopy.

Would someone please be able to provide me with a guide on how I can burn my movies with dvd decrypter and dvdshrink?

I also have this other program called dvdfab decrypter...does that one do the same thing as dvd decrypter?
