Hi you good and friendly AD folks! I downloaded a film i was after, but when i looked at the file it is this:
    VIDEO_TS
Then after opening the folder i have three VIDEO_TS, with on each one saying 'Backup File of the IFO', 'DVD Movie info' and 'DVD Movie'. After those three there are five VTS files. Never come acroos these type of files before, im usually an AVI kinda guy.
What program would you therefore recommend using to burn with?

    Cheers.

Don't know what programs you have, but you can start with the basic ones which are DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter and DVDFab Decrypter all are free and will back most movies. Here is a guide showing how to use these programs

    http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/backup with DVDFABDecrypter,Shrink,&Decrypter.pdf

    You can download them here

    http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/software.htm

You can also have Shrink burn with Nero if you have that program. Read the guides and post back with your questions. Make sure you use quality media such as Verbatim, Fuji, Maxell or Sony. Try to burn at 4x to see how your backup comes out, you can up it to 8x if you have no problems.
