I burn my ps2 games at 4X and no problem at all but what about movies I burn faster like 8X or should I keep it low like 4X?

I personally keep my speed down to 4x and they turn out OK

The slower the speed the less problems you will have with pixelation and messed up scenes.

Most members here recommend 4x. My rule of thumb is this: 1/2 of what the burner supports as long as the media supports it and is quality media. My 16x burners using Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim 8x I burn at 8x. If using my 8x burner and 8x speed media (same brands) I only burn at 4x max.
Make sure your are using quality media also - cuts out some more problems.

4X is one of the safest way to do. However, I've burned 8X using top notch media like Taiyo Yuden without any issues whatsoever. Honestly, I would never go beyond 8X regardless of how super power my burner is capable of burning -- it's just too risky for me.
