I currently have a Pioneer burner in my PC - works well!

Just wondering what speed can I increase my burning to without loosing quality on the dvd being burned?

Currently I burn at 6x speed but it take so long!

The most important factor is using high quality media, such as Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, or Sony. The general rule of thumb is to burn at half of the rated disk speed to start with. Once you figure out what your burner likes, then that speed can be increased. My normal burn speed is 12x for 16x Verbatim -R disks.

There's some contention over a 'recommended' speed at which to burn. Too many variables are in play to offer a clear cut, across the board answer.

The best bet is to do several burns, with different media and at different burn speeds. Run those burned discs in Nero Cd/Dvd Speed and see which media and burn speed produce the best results.
