Talk about the shock of my life, (and believe you me - I have had a few) - I went to update some files onto my h/d re: Microsoft updates and the words..........wait for it....'YOU MAY BE A VICTIM OF SOFTWARE COUNTERFEITING..........CLICK HERE TO RESOLVE'!! I have not been game enough to 'click here to resolve' because I am really computer illiterate!!! Everytime I startup the computer now, this wording comes up in a big box on the screen and it only goes away if I click 'resolve later'. A very good friend put this whole package together for me and installed everything - he handed me two of the microsoft disks........and I guess me being female, he said, 'you won't need these..........' I don't know what to do............can someone please help me with this if you have the time/patience....thank you kindly. Cheers, Jo.
Yes I did.....It has never come up before and then one day, a little pop up said....do you want to update files..........I said yes and POOOFFFF, there it was..............and now it won't go away....can you help?
Hi there You have a pirated copy of Microsoft! You need to go to system restore and turn your computer back to an early date when you loaded the program in!
Thank you. But I am not sure how to do that. I think I received the computer in about May and it was already up/running and programmed for me........the man who programmed it for me is away on extended leave. Is there any other way around this? And is it BAD? If I just decided to 'keep' what I have and keep clicking - resolve later - (pain in the ass I guess) - but nonetheless, what will be the consequence in its ability to function - due to it being a pirated copy????????//
One consequence is some Updates are will not be downloaded from MS Example http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...49-3a5c-4a63-83af-6acd37789689&DisplayLang=en http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...53-3759-40cf-80d5-cde4bbe07999&DisplayLang=en These are not critical updates. You should be fine until your "friend" returns. Apart from the pain in the ass message. EDIT P.S. What kind of pop did you get. A balloon or a Messenger
1( click on start on your screen 2( go to all programs 3( go up to accessories 4( then go on to systems tools 5( then click on systems restore after that the screen will change and you just follow what it say to do. and you go back to the very first date it was in stalled how ever this may change some of your setting and any new programs you have loaded in also may to be reloaded. good luck the same thing happened to me
