Ok I'm looking to replace my Pioneer DVR-108 because I have been told it might be dying on me.The reason it might be dying is because when I use Clonecd to make a 1:1 backup of my DVD's using Verbatim DL's it always stops at 50% and then just spits out the DVD and an error comes out.It burns regular DVD's just fine so I don't know if it's true that it might be dying or something else is going on. Anyways what is the best Internal DVD burner that is capable of Booktyping to DVD-Rom and will fit a Sony Vaio PCV-RS630G model? My current burners dimensions are 148 x42.3x 198mm Thanks in advance.Oh I was looking into the Pioneer DVR-1910LS as the replacement but need some suggestions first.
Pioneer 115D would be a good replacement drive, but you will need to do a bit of hacking to get it to bitset. Another alternative would be an NEC/Optiarc 7200.
well thanks for the reply but I went ahead with the Pioneer DVR-1910LS which is actually the DVR-113NP. How can I get this to booktype if it's even possible? Don't really need to booktype to DVD-Rom as I have never had any problems with the backups I make I just wanted to try the booktype feature.
ok my new burner is great but I noticed that when I selected to burn at 8x with Printable Ty's using the latest IMGBurn it doesn't burn at the selected speed. The write speed fluctuates from 6.5x to 7.1x and never really hits or stays at 8x.Why is that? My drive has the latest firmware so why does it not burn at the selected speed? of 8x?
