Hi, I'm trying to convert a dual layer disc to a single layer by re-encoding the biggest .vobs to half size. Using the guides at doom9.net, I used ReMpeg2 to re-encode the main body of the movie, and I used IFO Edit to multiplex the audio stream back in. I now have 3 .vobs making up the original movie, and audio is in sync and filesize is much better. The problem is, I don't know what to do with the original IFO and BUP files from the DVD. When I create and moutn an ISO of my re-encoded version of the DVD, my DVD player won't open it. I was using the original VIDEO_TS.IFO / BUP from the DVD, and I assume this is why the DVD won't open. But the new VIDEO_TS.IFO / BUP files which IFO Edit created for me are only about a quarter of the size of the originals, and since I only re-encoded the main movie - not all the other bits - I'm wondering if these new files will fail too, because IFO Edit was never told about all the other bits of the DVD, because I didn't need to re-encode them. So basically, can anyone tell me what to do with IFO Edit if I only want to resize the biggest part of the DVD but leave all the others intact? How do I get the correct VIDEO_TS.IFO / BUP files?
If a copy try running it through DVD Shrink. If an original, use DVD Shrink with AnyDVD running in background.
Jeez, days of piddling around with .ifo and .bup files and IFO Edit and VOB Edit and ReMpeg...and DVD Shrink does the whole thing perfectly in about 35 minutes. Thanks for help
