Hey Guys. What will happen if I update my modchip with a different updater or try inserting different updaters such as (wiikey,wiinja,cyclo) to see if my modchip will detect which one it is or would it mess it up by trying? Im having a hard time finding the tri-wing screwdriver. and im anxious to play smg!
If you have a Wal Mart check there for a tri-wing or a hardware store. I have heard of some finding them at those places. You really need to open it up and find out that way.
yeah i tried but that triwing is really killing me!! I wish their was another way.....I have read where someone inserted the wiikey update and see what happened?
Your best bet is opening up the Wii and checking. I have also came across a thread that had used a Philip's screwdriver and just filed down 1 of the edges making 3 edges instead of 4 on the Philip's screwdriver. If you don't have a Wiikey and you run the update more then likely all you will get is a error during the test and say failed check connections. If it is a Wiikey then it should update properly with no issue.
u think if i insert the wiikey update and it gives me an error then nothing will happen? and what do i burn it on......a dvd or cd
i actually wanna know about this too... lets say i jus throw in some random updates on my modchip not knowing which modchip i have... will it brick?
I answered above. So head my advice or not. Your smartest move is to open up the Wii and find out what chip you have. If you don't then you take the chance of possibly rendering your Modchip useless.
