what? it already is.. all "standards" which are in the public domain are supposed to be open, and open source by it's very nature uses open standards that everybody can see and use... unlike the closed ooxml trash that M$ failed to get passed as a standard last year. The standards board don't like "closed" standards, because they deny software makers the chance to use them.. and since when was a "standard" property of anybody?.. it's just a set of specifications.
