I was thinking about modding my xbox. When i researched it i came across soft modding. However, I dont quite understand what it will let me do. I currently own a ps2 with swap magic and was wondering if i do do the softmod would i have to swap discs like i do with swap magic. Would I be able to just put in my backed up game and have it just play like a regular modchip? Also, I have read many guides on how to softmod and some dont mention to mod the map. Is it required to mod the map. Please just give me a run down on what it lets me do compared to what an actual modchip would let me do. Thank you for replying.

a softmod is not much different in the end. both allow u to back up games, play backups, and enable ftp access

not much diffrent does not = safer, softmodding can work, but on any xbox forum you will find that xbox softmodding is a highly risky business, one false move even like mislabeling a file and you can turn yer xbox into a doorstop, spend the 40 to 50, get a xenium ice or x3ce
