I hooking up my Pc to my samsung 67" HL67750. I am using a vga to vga connector for the video which works great but iam having troble with the audio the samsung setup guide is telling me to use a D-Sub cable for audio. look online and can't find any listing for a d-sub cable......there d-sub connector but they look nothing like what the manual showing me to use...

My question is would a D-sub Cable be the Digital audio cable????
My hdtv has a audio port and also a digital audio optical port the manual showing to use the regular audio port.

I know i could go with the hdmi/dvi connector plus rca but my hdtv comes with the vga/pc port already there so iam trying to save that hdmi/dvi connector for something different.

    1. It helps the people trying to help you if you can provide the correct information. the correct model number for your TV (according to Samsung is HL67A750)

My question is would a D-sub Cable be the Digital audio cable????

The manual (did you read it?) clearly shows that it is NOT.

2.Referring to the user guide, page 16:

Using the D-Sub Cable 1 Connect a D-Sub Cable between PC IN [PC] jack on the TV and the PC output jack on your computer.

The D-sub is used for video (just as it always is).

For your PC you could use HDMI if your PC is capable of pushing Audio and video over HDMI for watching movies.

If you're using the TV as a monitor, you can use the D-sub video cable from the PC for VIDEO ONLY, and then use audio out from the PC to the audio in jack on the TV.
