I'm looking for a simple software that fits my needs. I bought ADS DVD Xpress for video capturing, but my laptop's OEM DVD software (Sonic MyDVD LE) isn't really helping me much. After capturing with ADS software, I get a DVD compliant MPEG with compressed audio. When I export it to MyDVD, it converts the audio to LPCM. Uncompressed audio takes so much space that most of the times the transcoded files won't fit on a 4.7 DVD-R. What software should I use? It would be nice if the software could also allow me to add chapters to my recordings...

You can find a short list of authoring apps in the FAQ at the top of the page. There's also a sticky thread with links to free and trial downloads for lots of different software. Basically what I'd recommend looking at for authoring is the free software, followed by TMPGEnc DVD Author/TMPGEnc DVD Author Pro and DVD-Lab/DVD-Lab Pro.
