I am a newbie to the xbox scene. I know my PC in and out thought after building them for 14 years.LOL. So what is better, hard or soft mod? I want to copy the xbox games directly from the xbox's DVD drive straight to my harddrive and then burn to DVD media. From what I've read, I need a crossover cable and FlashXP. Does anyone have an autoloader CD to put in the xbox to install the necessary stuff on the xbox to accomplish this? Once the games are copy to DVD media will a softmodded play them OR do you need a chip modded xbox to play them?

personally chips are the way to go because if you want to copy games you might need a bigger hard drive even though a softmodded one can play backup discs and can also store about 1-2 games on its hard drive.

man soft modding is so much better. you can not go on xbox live with a chip. and it is a lot harder to install. just start by getting flashFXP, of smartFXP. if you need help soft modding I am the one you can do it in like 15-30 min if you know what you are doing if you reaaly know what you are doing then you can do it in like 10 min. well talk to you later. if you have xbox live. a couple of my accounts that are not band are MODZ4444FUN8, MODZ4444FUN10, and MODZ4444FUN11. well talk to you later.

But as of late I would recommend softmodding as it is much cheaper and takes a lot less time to do.
