In short, your current pc can't be equipped with PCIe cards. PCIe (= PCI Express) cards requires differend kind of slot compared to "old" PCI, hence you would need new kind of motherboard which would be equipped with pci-e slots. Technically speaking, look out this link ( http://www.viperlair.com/articles/editorials/pcie/ ) for the further technical details about pci-e compared to old pci and agp. In current gamewolrd, pci-e doesn't - yet - offer that overwhelming performance over agp8x, since bandwidth limitiations rarely hit. This of course changes in the future....
