there are a few i can suggest that have mid range speeds of about 500Mhz Memory and around 400Mhz Core which should handle any recent game (depending on the rest of your system) If your using AGP then id suggest one of these few Gigabyte ATi RADEON™ 9600 Pro Gigabyte ATI RadeonTM X700 GigaByte 256Mb nVidia N6600 you can pick any of these up for less than £100 have a look on here for more www.eclipsecomputers.com
ok then, I was thinking of getting a laptop, lol, whats the best Graphics Card you can get with a Laptop? Or good for the latest pc games.
Whats your current PC Specs? Motherboard make & Model? CPU? RAM? There's no point recommending a Good graphics card if its going to be bottlenecked by ur CPU.
if you want to be playing games id suggest a PC is better than a laptop for this as pc graphics cards perform better than laptop ones. but if you must get a laptop i believe you can get an nvidia 7800 mobile graphics card in some laptops now and you can defo get most of the 6600 and 6800 series for laptops aswell. however these most definately will not be cheap as the pc versions are expensive enough and laptop parts tend to be double if not triple the price
dont put a laptop video card in a desktop pc...thats insane...get a 6600 or a 6800gt you will have fun but only with graphics on med....peace
Imo the best price Vs performance is the X800 GT0 2 , seeing as it can be flashed to X850 spec which is by far the fastest last generation card But if your mobo has only pci & not AGP or PCI-E then your kinda limited as to what you can get .....
I never actually said to put a laptop grfx card in a PC for i know of the insanity due to it not actually being possible... i was mereley saying that you can buy laptops with those graphics card built in but theyre very expensive and the PC versions perform better anyway
You are asking two questions at the same time. What is the best, and what is the cheapest card. How much are you willing to spend total, then you can get an answer that will actually help you. What games are you wanting to play? BTW game playing quality will be effected by more than just the graphics card. Chances are if you system only supports PCI (not PCI-E) then it is running a slow CPU and memory as well. I would always go AMD for gaming.
hey big nice rig.....having probs with those plats myself...ever have crashes from games, temps are fine gpu, cpu.i thinking the ram chips are beat....i have to keep raising the volts to run them.what are yours set at....2.75v,stock 2.6v.etc?thx for answering in advance...peace btw:the best card is the 7800 gtx ko ac3 512 mb only $699 retail usa dollars...lol...best board...neck and neck...dfi or asus...lol
So far no problems, but I havn't cranked it up yet, its only been running 2 weeks so far. Only played Doom 3 and Riddick so far, as I'm too lazy to load all my other games. My mate has his stepped up, but is using Corsair extreme memory. First time I've opted for OCZ instead of Corsair, but that was because I got it cheap to help pay for graphics card.
sweet graphics card 512 mb...awesome....me too opt for the ocz plats alot less then alot of others....mine went bad only has been 2 months...one of the modules went bad but ocz is sticking behind it.no quwestions asked rma`ed me the first day....also whats real nice is they are taking a security deposit on the bad ram and sending new out immediately,i will get credit back when they get the bad stuff back that is great.usally you lose your pc for a week or two.just figured id tell you incase you have problems mate....peace
Cheers for that. Once I start to OC the system, I will see how it performs, but expect to change it later anyway for something faster. The graphics card just blows away anything I've used before, very happy!
