HI. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW I CAN FIND OUT WHAT MAKE & MODEL MY CD/DVD WRITER IS? I THINK I DID IT LAST TIME WITH NERO & SI-SOFTWARE'S SANDRA LITE 2006. IS THERE A DOWNLOAD OR SCAN AVAILABLE THAT WILL TELL ME? ALSO, WHATS THE BEST BURNER THAT CAN HANDLE ALL THE COPY PROTECTIONS ON DISK? THANKS

dougal, the burner has nothing to do with handling copy protections on the DVD's. All will play the commercial DVD's. You just need a DVD player software to play them. There are a ton of free ones out there, but if you have DVD burning software, it is probable that there is one in the software suite.

And, vperkins is correct. The only thing that he/she left out was to not type in caps, unless you are visually impaired, in which case, you should let users know, so you don't get dissed.

@vperkins: You were rude, yourself. Maybe you should apologize.

the best burners are Plextor but its software that makes it able to backup your dvds.

clonedvd 2 + anydvd is your best choice does all the new movies easy to use and great quality download the free 21 day trial and try it out here

and a guide to use the programs

remember to use good blank media (Taiyo Yuden and or Verbatim) and burn at 4x starting out on a clean machine without other programs running while your burning with the latest firmware update for your drive

ok guys, i get it now. i didnt know it was against forum rules to type in capital letters, sorry. im trying to back up my pc games & dont know exactly how to do this. ive got alcohl 120%, poweriso, magiciso, nero 7 ultra, roxio easy media creator 7, dvdclone2, clonyxxl, protection id, & a- ray scanner. ive tried backing up my games using all of these, but i must be doing something wrong. the copied disk runs as soon as i put it in the pc(like it should), the games menu appears, & i choose to install it. it gets about 3 quarters of the way through & then i recieve an error. the error says new feature, data error: cyclic redundancy check. i tried google, but there were so many reasons for this error. i was told its to do with my burners firmware as it isnt up to date. how do i update my drives firmware? do i need to boot into safe mode? one last thing. ive got a new sig pic, & was wondering how i pass it through a moderator & use it in my future posts? any help is appreciated. thanks guys
