I am useing pinnacle Studio 8.
If I create an AVI from my project, the size is 498MB.
Useing the same project to create an MPEG 2 and the size is 40MB.
I notice a difference in the quality, Is there that much of a difference.
I haven't burned it to a DVD yet.
I'm waiting to here from someone who knows more them me, I'm just a novice at this.
    Thanks

    I'm no pro, but...

AVIs are always much, much larger, unless you use a codec like DivX. It really comes down to compression. MPEG-2 is a great compression format if your goal is to burn a DVD or SVCD. In fact, to burn a DVD, the video will have to be encoded/converted to MPEG-2 anyway. The quality depends quite a bit on the bitrate you've chosen. Resolution is another factor. I would go with MPEG-2 for DVD/SVCD projects, and AVI/DIVX for others.
