I traded my pc and i just wanna test it. the ram seemd to work fine with it like you all said. I know theres somthing wrong with the harddrive but my the pc has a 3 year geek squad warranty (hope they still cover it after you add stuff) Anyway i wanted to full test everything on this pc and see how what and which piece of hardware is working fine. any suggestions?
i am sure one of these might do the job, http://www.benchmarkhq.ru/english.html?/be_memory.html or this one will do the lot, i think, http://www.testmem.nm.ru/snm.zip speedfan will tell you the basics about your harddrive
hmmmm are those programs safe? I know they prob are but i had programs that install into dos >.> i always get a virus that way. Is the a better program?
iv used testmem(the second one) without problems, it also has a full system test(called s+m) that runs from within windows
i tryed that program and it scanned everything. It scanned the HDD which took awhile. i left it on the default settings. But i donno if it was ok? i never seen a status result screen. It scanned the surface is that where it should of found problems?
i did that and ran the disk at system bootup but im not sure if it found any problems because after it got done it didnt show any results lol I fig it would find somthing since the HDD makes a loud click every so often =/
showed no error codes just did hdd windows error scandisk and also found no bad sectors. This is very annoying. I doubt best buy will fix it if they dont find errors. somthing is causeing it to click <.<
