yeah, i have swap magic 3.6 and was able to get my backups to work. now they stop working. i download four iso and rip sonic riders. i use Verbatim DvD+R(bought them from bestbuy)and Maxell DVD-R 'N' DVD+R (bought them from walgreen). Maxell(DVD-R) and Verbatim DVD+R booted but stay at a black screen. maxell DVD+R work fine then after a while, backups started to mess up. i have a slim ps2 70012 V12. i can't seen to find the problem. i really need some help

Are all your backups Black, or just one. Your media seems fine.
Need to know what your backups are, and what region are they. Are they the same as your PS2.
The Sonic Riders that your ripped, did you use Imgburn to rip it to ISO, then burn it, and what region is it.
Also the V12 is noted for its poor laser, and sometimes overheating. There is a fix for the laser, just do a search on here or google for V12 laser problems.

sorry it took so long to reply. anyway my backups where Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition (NTSC),Obscare II(PAL), Bloody Roar(NTSC), Shinobi(NTSC), and Spiderman Friend or foe(NTSC). I rip Sonic Riders(NTSC) with DVD Decrypter and no only the Maxell DVD-R backups show the black screen

No problem, so only the Maxell DVD-R backups show the black screen.
And which of the backups that you just listed did you burn on the Maxell DVD-R. They should be a good disk.

Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition, Obscare II, Bloody Roar, Shinobi, and Sonic Riders were all backup with Maxell DVR-R but i also back these up on Maxell DVD+R and Spiderman friend or foe. all these game boot ok with Maxell DVD+R but the games start to stutter, skip, Slow or long loading times, etc

Ok so when you burn to DVD+R, did you make sure your Booktype is set to DVD-ROM>
Another thing is sometimes for your DVD-R, and the screen is black,I have selected SPECIAL in Swap Magic 3.8, then select NTSC, I don't know if Swap Magic 3.6 has that setting. But that has worked for a few of my games.
Another thing is perhaps the size of these disks, maybe they need to be rebuilt.
You could just use gnie's xpert tool to rebuild the game. Just do a search on that here in the forum.

When you open DVD Decrypter, its a little book Icon down in the lower right hand corner, just click it. There is a picture showing somewhere on this forum if you do a search for it.

i've heard that dvd-r's are better for ps2. it's what i always use. 99% of my backups work, but some games need to be rebuilt, like smokyrain said (plenty of tutorials on rebuilding in this site). i use taiyo yuden dvd-r premiums. they're perfect for ps2 and dvd movies. sorry for the really late post, but i just happend to run into this thread.
