What's the difference between ripping to Video files vs ISO's?

I'm new at this but learning.

I see on many 1 click and various other encoders and transcoders, there is the option to encode to Video_TS (files) or ISO images.

Does it matter which way I rip? And what is the difference? File size? Quality of compression?

What's the better way to do it?

I primarly rip to the hard drive and then to a Dvd. Only using 1 drive right now.

    Hi there,

Honestly, the only difference going to an ISO, is you end up with 1 file instead of a dir full of files.

Quality, size etc.. is the same.

Most software will support both format.

I prefer .ISO cause I deal with 1 file only.
