What's the difference between XviD and DivX?

    Different implimentations of the same standard (ASP MPEG-4 Part2). That's if you simply mean the video codecs. DivX is also a container based/hacked on avi. Nothing to compare there though since XviD is just a video codec.

    XviD and DivX both share many common features and both came from the same open-source code.
