What is "best" in your opinion? I use Sony and Pioneer, but there are cheaper out there that some argue are just as good. You can get chappy ones in the best brands and great ones in the cheap brands. Care to rephrase your question?
well, I'm just looking for some generally recommended models. When I bought mine years ago, I did plenty of digging around here and decided on the BenQ 1655 or 1620 or 1640, don't recall precisely. Anyway, I know that there isn't a singular "best" one. But some quality recommendations would be nice.
I buy the cheapest one in my preferred brand. There's not much difference in features except for mybe Lightscribe. They all burn CDs and DVDs and have a maximum speed. If you limit yourself to specific model you are setting unnecessary constraints unless you have a very specific reason for wanting a specific model.
