alright i just recieved my premodded xbox with x-ecuter pro 2.2, and it came with the Cromwell bios on it and when i load it up it asks for "please insert cd with bios update." I guess i don't understand what its asking for.

I made an xiso and burned it using nero of evox.ini and default.xbe with a folder labeled bios with Evox D.6 and the Evox D.6 ejectfix. But when i load the cd-rw in the xbox it says no bios was found and halting.

I need Help, Please... _X_X_X_X_X_[small]Fortune favors the Brave.[/small]

i never knew nero had the capability to make an xISO. Try using craxtion or ISOcreator to make the ISO, but for christ's sake stay away from the program called xISO, it's very unreliable.

What you need is an ISO of Slayers EvoX 2.1

That will auto install the bios.

To update the bios all you need (for now) is a bios.bin file on a cdrw or dvd. You can download this and as a start if you're stuck, try searching for the executer2 4977 version. You will also need a dummy file on the cd/dvd so that there isnt just one small file which the xbox finds hard to read. You can burn this with nero: create a CDROM ISO from the menu and then select 'no multisession', on the next screen select 'level 1' untick 'joliet' and also 'finalise cd' finally burn it 'track at once'. You should the have a cd/dvd with a (recommend 40 meg) dummy file and the bios.bin (rename the xecuter2 4977 bios file to bios.bin so that it can be recognised) ready to go. OH IMPORTANT - MAKE SURE YOU GET THE 1 MEG VERSION...

Switch your write protect switch to off and enable your mod chip...switch on and then it should automatically find the bios.bin file...it should also update it automatically shutting down your xbox at the end...when you switch it back on you should have the updated bios.

Next step would then be to burn evox (with the same settings as above) to a cd (look for the latest which is 1.8.3752) and run it...you can then find your xbox's IP address. With the IP address and any FTP program, you can access your xbox's hard disk drive (HDD) from your pc...where the D drive is your xbox dvd drive...in here you should see the contents of your newly burnt evox cd....copy it all over to your hard drive and then back to your C drive. You will then have evox on your hard disk and will be able to run it without the cd. Read guides on how to set it up. Any programs should go on the E drive after this (like xbmp) as it has more room.

Any major probs get back to us oK =)

Yep!...after you burn it, turn on the xbox with it inside...it will prompt you what to do.

Addition to above now i think about it...

Burn your evox and your bios onto the same cd...wont need a dummy file then as you'll have enough there.

Dont put BIOS file into any folder...leave it out in the open and make sure its called bios.bin

You don't need to make xiso's...normal iso's in the fashion above work perfectly for me so they should also for you.

    =)

ok, i just got the X2_4977 BIN File, its only 256kb. Is there suppose to be one that 1 mb?

I just found the Slayer EvoX 2.1 file but its 190 mb and while i'm on dial-up it is going to take me awhile to download it.

I do have the Evox v.1.8.3285beta including EvoX D 6 bios, its 2.51mb. Is this anything or should i just delete that?

After a little time on mirc, i found this:
SlaYer's EvoX Auto-Installer v2.1 FINAL.exe ..... 100MB (approx) [Self Extractor!] is this ok to use?

Thanks guys for all your help!!
    =)

before i burn it, i have slayer as a .rar file or it might be an .exe, i would put that in a folder and make it an iso, and then burn it with nero. Thats what i just did.

    cd-rom label: Evox
    no bios update found...halting

If i'm right, the slayer one is a self configuring self installing kind of idiots guide to evo x!! Don't bother with it...it's easy enough without.

Normally when downloaded, evo x comes as an iso. Burn this using nero and load evo x from your cdrw or dvd...then, connect to your xbox over ftp which you will now be able to do since you have evo x loaded.

Now, you will want to run evo x from your HDD so copy what's on the D drive to your pc, then, copy it all straight back over to your C drive.
The evox.ini file is where you need to look to configure anything but for now, it'll run without messing. As far as i can remember, that's it...apart from renaming any of the .xbe's Your original dash is called xboxdash.xbe and your new dash should be renamed from default.xbe to evoxdash.xbe

Before you overwrite anything download it to your pc so it doesnt matter if it f***s up.

    Good luck =)

Oh one more thing...don't bother using the flash bios tool on the menu...you have a great bios and there's not reason to change it! I flashed mine with a 4978 by putting the bin file to c:\bios and it buggered up...at your own risk in other words but i see no reason.

Your next step would probably be to upload dvdx2 and xbox media player (xbmp) to play dvd's and to play mp3's and mpegs respectively. (note - xbmp does not play music cd's and dvdx2 automatically removes region codes and negates the need for the remote...so if you bought one consider selling it to a mate LOL)

You'll notice how big the E drive is so that's the best place for any programs. Simply upload the entire folder for any programs like dvdx2 and xbmp to your E drive and configure them when you get there....any probs give us another shout back ok mate.

PS - any music you copied with the original dash is in the TDATA folder...mine was in folder fffe0000 but yours may be different...for xbmp, you will need to download all of it, and then re-upload it with all the songs named properly. Also, create a new folder on your E drive called music and put it there...then, when you configure the xbmp config file, change the music shared folder to E:\music to see all your songs properly.

Ignore this if it's too much for now and come back with any probs.

    =)

you dont need any patches, patch the default.xbe with craxtion and you should be fine. there was an issue with ETM that did need a patch, try to PM seamonkey, he knows what patch is needed.
