Datawrite Classics are purple dye, and generation 4? What are these features, and how do they affect the playback of a movie or an xbox game?

Also is it the model/make of a burner, the burning software, or the media you burn to that affects the compatibility of a DVD-R?

The dye colour relates to reflectivity (I think) and the generation could be similar to updates(I think again).

Generally the compatibility issue relates to numerous variables such as:

    Burning software
    Authoring method/software
    Media types
    Standalone players

I have never come across issues regarding dvd burners as they all are supposed to burn dvd's
    either + or -.

You would expect there to be a common standard wouldn't you however big corporations and their conquest to control the world has a factor.

    Hope this helps
