Can any Xbox play CD-RW's with no mod? Also, Will these games play on live?? OK, well it wont do me much good, cause there are like no games under 650 megs right? Oh, and I have heard that you can turn off the mod-chip once the game is loaded, and can then play the backup (DVD-R) on XBLive. Is this true? I hope it is, but it seems too good to be true. THX for any help.
Man this question gets asked so much it just unbelievable. Yes virtually all XBOX's (even the ones with the rather poor Thomson drives) can read CD-RW's. This ONLY means they are capable of reading that type of media (eg CD-RW) as not all XBOX's will read just normal CDR. This does not mean however that you can play ANY kind of backup game at all without a modchip. No how. No way. Never. Ever. Ever....... never. You need a modchip and thats that. I hope people stop asking this now. If you get the Xecuter 2.1 Pro then you can turn it off to access Live, however I don't think all backups can be played on Live but a lot can someone will correct me if I'm wrong I'm sure.
OK, does it have to be the new Xecutor 2.1 PRO for it to be LIVE capapble? or could it be the LITE version (2.1)? Also, what backups would work? Does anyone have a list?
f***in hell! dumb asses! you cannot use backup games on xb live! to enable the game to work, you have to have your chip enabled - hence ms can scan ur console for the chip! DO NOT go on xbl with your chip turned on, you WILL get banned! you can go on xbl with original games and as long as your chip is turned off!!!!!!! any modchip with a switch will work, its just preference! You have been warned! G4MERZO1D
