I've been using a Panasonic DMR-E85 for three years and love it. Setting it to record to the HDD takes less than 15 seconds and retrieving/playing from the HDD is a cinch. I've also burned (dubbed) several DVDs from the HDD with no problems.

What baffles me is that there do not seem to be any replacements for this kind of device. The few I've found on manufacturer's sites are not available for sale anywhere.

Am I the only person who likes these?

    Thanks for your response ...

    >most people switched to orignally video and audio sountracks

I don't know what that means.

    >coz its not recorder <
If a device can record an input signal from cable to a HDD and can transfer digital data from a HDD to a DVD, what is it about the device that's NOT a recorder?

Apparently I'm ignorant of certain technical aspects of this topic, so enlighten me or refer me to a place where I can learn something.

    Thanks
