I have my xbox connected to my router for xbox live and everything was good.

I just moved my xbox to a different part of the house and I needed a longer network cable. So I made one up. Now my xbox ses that the network cable is not plugged in. but it is plugged in. I have a network cable tester and the cable is fine. Every few seconds the light for the port on the router that the cable is plugged into flash's for a second.

Whats wrong with it all? I cant figure it out.

most likly there is more that 1 rj-45 slot on your router. (ethernet) try putting it in another slot. also, reset your modem and router. if that still doesnt work, try using that cord on another device such as your computer and see if it will connect. maybe the cord is messed up. maybe ur xbox is messed up?

when u go to troubleshooting, what does it say is the problem? dns? ip conflict? cables not connected?

iv tryed changing the port on the router but that doesnt make it work. Iv tested the cable a heap of times and it does not seem to work. There are no brakes in the cables at all and my xbox is fine because it works with another network cable. In trouble shooter the xbox ses that the cable is unplugged.
