What's wrong with my Modded Xbox?

I have Evolution X installed on my Xbox.
Whenever I try to play any game it frequently resets itself.
It ususally happens before I can get through an opening movie.
Sometimes, the game doesn't even start by itself and I have to reboot it multiple times until it works because it says "NO DISC"
Also, sometimes when it does play, it freezes then unfreezes several times within a short period of time.
There's no point backing up my games if I can't even play the originals.
Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?

 

is it softmodded or did you have a modchip installed?

Could also be a bad DVD drive.

 

I had someone install the modchip for me.
Xecuter 2.

 

i would take it back to the person who modded it and have them check it out.

He actually modded it over 2 years ago and I just started using it.
I couldn't figure it out back then so it just sat...
Anything I can do?
If anyone knows what the problem is I could try to take it apart myself and fix it.
I mean, what do I have to lose?
