whats wrong ?

    hi,can anyone tell me what i need to fix my p.c. ? when i started it up it wouldnt load anything ,xp, safe mode or the like so i put my copy of xp in & formatted it ,now when i put it on it just says error,nothing else.i cant get into safe mode or even the bios.does this mean the hard drive needs replacing or is it something else ? any help would be great.

    well if you can't get to the bios it is possible your problem is likely to be the motherboard.

    Could you explain what you see when you press the power button to turn your pc on? is there any display?, do you hear any beeps during start up? (from your tower system)

    moved to correct forum as not a pc hardware issue. you formated the drive but did you reload windows as appears you did not?

    hi,when its finished loading up it says
    master disk smart disabled
    slave disk smart disabled
    then gives the list of devices,at the very bottom it says
    error loading operating system
    no key will work on the keyboard & its the same whether i boot with or without xp in the drive.how can i re enable the hdd or is it as stated the motherboard

    when booting up are you now able to enter the bios by pressing del when prompted?

    There is a problem with your current bootable disk. There is some .dll file missing in your current operating system so you can first of all change bootable operating system disk and the you can try to install windows operaitng system perfectly.
