when buying a PSU should it have its own SATA2 power cables?

    if I plan on using a sata-2 hard drive? thanks...

    Newer PSUs will coe with the SATA 2 connector, or at least an adapter. If not, the drive should have come with one.

    Yeah and they will say it on the box or product specs site.They almost all have at least an adapter.
