when i try to open a downloaded xvid movie file i get the windows error coming up and the computer freezes.windows error report says i have a problem with xvid files.does anybody know how i can solve this problem.thanks
Ive found a couple of xvids do this lately they seem to be corrupt the only way I have been able to view them is by converting to dvd using divxtodvd it seems to correct the coruption also just make sure you have the latest xvid codec installed
Downloaded videos often contain errors. You may try correct them with e.g. AviFixed, but be sure to backup the original videos first 'cos the process might sometimes back fire: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/vso_divxtodvd_free.cfm Good luck!
