When I hit a key, I get the wrong character. How do I fix that?

    i have a sony computer and the keyboard is fixed to it like a laptop.
    When I hit a key, I get the wrong character. How do I fix that?
    for example heres what comes up-
    a-a;
    z-zx
    p-starts up m.s outlook
    . - ./
    pls help!

    try getting some drivers for the keyboard or something
