Just looked at the manual on line and it tells you how make the floppy 1. If you plan to use RAID 0, RAID 1, or JBOD functions on SATA, SATA HDDs must be operated in “RAID” mode. 2. “RAID” and “non-RAID” mode are options under “SATA Operation Mode” in BIOS setup. Please refer to page 30 for details. They need different drivers during actual operation. 2.9 Making a SATA Driver Diskette For SATA Operation in “RAID” Mode If you want to install Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows XP 64-bit OS on your SATA HDDs, you will need to make a SATA driver diskette before you start the OS installation. STEP 1: Insert the ASRock Support CD into your optical drive to boot your system. (Do NOT insert any floppy diskette into the floppy drive at this moment!) STEP 2: During POST at the beginning of system boot-up, press <F11> key, and then a window for boot devices selection appears. Please select CDROM as the boot device. STEP 3: When you see the message on the screen, “Do you want to generate Serial ATA driver diskette [YN]?”, press <Y>. STEP 4: Then you will see these messages, Please insert a diskette into the floppy drive. WARNING! Formatting the floppy diskette will lose ALL data in it! Start to format and copy files [YN]? Please insert a floppy diskette into the floppy drive, and press <Y>. STEP 5: The system will start to format the floppy diskette and copy SATA drivers into the floppy diskette. then when installing windows press F6 button to install third party driver & insert the floppy and it should do it's thing ... jope this helps you out
when i unzip that file to copy on floppy it alot bigger then 705kb. should i leave the file zipped and copy to a?
ok i though that was for operation in raid mode but i guess thats how you make the drivers and install them thanks man
Hey no problem, glad i could help .....thinking about getting that mobo what's it like as an all in package ?
was pretty hard to get going at first.the bios that came with the board was real bad, couldnt find hard drive, could read the mem right, bunch of problems.then windows wouldnt load right bsod,i was having big problems[lol]so i scraped the first install, flashed bios with 1.30 the card ran like a champ.still the drivers on the board were still srewed up so i updated all drivers and the board ran great, till i was downloading or something, this is wierd, the plug fell out of the sata hard drive right in the middle of something important cause the whole hard drive crash and the pc just turn off.i freaked, started it back up,windows has been corrupted,i almost died.re did windows again and running smooth as a clock, the plugs on this hiper r ps sux.the thing bad about this motherboard is the vcore only goes up to 1.45.i guess no overclocking here but this is so much faster than a 2800+ athlon xp that i had before.the boards ok though,i like the whole package alot.hope the next build goes better[lol]sorry about the cards,i thought everybody paid the same price on video cards and to buy a 6800gt here is like 300 bucks and 6600gt is 200,not like in australlia your cards are almost 5 x in difference .thats crazy $650 for a gt to $97 for a 6600
