I've just upgraded my PC (XP) to a new sound card, PCI ESI MAYA44. When I'm burning a disk of any kind, I cant play music or video with out it being slow and horrible. like timestretched and glitchy. --Kind of CPU overload - Its a real pain. What might i try to stop this? I have latest driver etc. my sound card before didn't do this Can anyone help? R
Really, you shouldn't be doing anything while burning a disc. Whatever you are burning, at the time of the slowdown, must be CPU intensive. Encoding a video disc comes to mind.
thanks for the input, sound advice, but doesn't help any, and you must appreciate that. cheers anyway its never been a problem on 10,0000 burns on my last Terratec audio card. back to the problem Why might burning a CD or DVD reader the sound/video on my computer useless? IRC conflicts? I chose a good PCI slot. unshared IDE conflicts? I have SATA drives 2. but an IDE burner (i could swap the IDE to the second one) see........ that kind of input dude .... 'there no such thing as a stupid question' idea.... Anyone R
I managed to solve the problem with a kind of work around I increased the buffer size of the audio card through the control panel
