When trying to burn dvds i keep getting told to insert disc when it's already in

    first time here and not sure if im posting in correct place but here goes when trying to burn dvds i keep getting told to insert disc when it's alreay in i have tried dvd-r and dvd+r i can watch dvds on this and i am at a loss. Thanks for your time and my apologies again if im posting in wrong place

    What is the make and model number of your DVD drive?

    You needed to post that information here and not create a new thread.
    From what I could gather, your drive is a reader only so that means you cannot burn with this drive. It's looking for a CD. This drive is over 8 years old.

    Your computer to way too old. Get a newer one with a DVD burner and read the guides here before you start trying to make backups.
