Well, check there feedback, check that they say it's geniune, and don't buy it if its from japan/china cause its much more likely to be fake from japan if its cheap.

well, theres ways you can tell. but pretty much if it's expensive, its genuine, like any other product you buy off the shelf.

at the moment, i saw a genuine 2gig mspd for AUD$350. i kno its genuine because of the price :p . sounds stupid, but thats the way you can tell.

other ways you can tell its NOT genuine is the packaging. it may be the same, but mine: on the top-right of the packaging has a red dot that said 2 gig, and under had some chinese writing. every other instructions are in japanese. thats ONE way of telling, duno if its true (hope you guys can confirm tht for me :S). other factors: stickered label on the mspd (where it supposed to be printed on it), wrong packaging, not fully in japanese, and so forth. all authentic sony products are make in japan (that i kno of. if it isnt, thats jus stupid :p).

Forget $ony, all you fellow aussies. Get sandisk the read/write speeds are much faster. Also ive not heard one report of a fake stick or a sandisk stick thats stuffed up. Pm me if your in syd i can tell you where to get cheap sticks.

Its weird man, Sandisk is supposed to be cheaper then $ony, but they perform better. If i were to go to shop and buy a $ony stick i can gurantee it will cost more then a sandisk stick at the same shop.
Ebay has things mixed up, which is sometimes a good thing, On the site you showed at the bottom it tells you some fake sellers on ebay.
