This im sure has been started a million times but just curious where everyone works around the forum. Feel free to say if it sucks or blows or is great and wonderful. I work as an engineering intern at the Department of Transportation in Pa.

I'm a social worker in Philadelphia. Do I enjoy it?...well, that's a 50/50 deal. I arrange for people with obsolete skills or people whose jobs have left the area to go to school so in that sense, its very rewarding. On the other hand, I often deal with the most disfunctional elements of our society ...murderers, child molesters, rapists, thieves of every imaginable flavor, loads of the mentally ill, transexuals taking illegal hormones .... everything. In that sense, it can be pretty rough at times ...there are people in our society whose lives are such a mess that you can't do anything for them...one tries but the greatest of skills combined with a very bright mind amount to nothing if the person is such a mess that he/she cannot hold down a job. I learnt long ago not to let that part of the job get the best of me though; I count my victories and ignore those loses I was powerless to help.

    I'm a maintenence technician (electrician,mechanic,pipe fitter,machinest,welder etc...) at a corrugated box company.

    The job is rewarding when...
-you fix a problem no one else could figure out(then the owner comes and thanks you personnally)
-you get a new machine in and install it in record time
-you make the operator mad because you fixed it right away and he does'nt get to read the news paper.
-they buy a used machine from ebay that looks like it was laying in a cornfield and you bring it back to life!

    The job sucks when...
-you fix a problem no one else could figure out and some one else else takes the credit!
-you get a new machine in,it breaks down and all the trouble shooting literature is in German!
-you made the operator mad because the machine was fixed right away so he breaks it again but this time worse than the last!(so he can finish reading the paper)
-they buy a used machine from ebay that looks like it was laying in a cornfield and you can't bring it back to life!

    -Ah........Christmas bonus check-Priceless!

I'm currently employed as a part time Tech support/installation guy *the kind that you can call who drops by to fix the problem for you, or installs stuff on/in your comp as long as you are willing to pay the ridiculous rates we charge*,
parttime nightwatchman *babysitting sh*tloads of freight containers that couldn't be opened or stolen unless the thieves had 5 hours to waste.. easiest job EVER*, and i'm studying chemistry on the side.

Metrologist. Not the weatherman, metrology is the science of meaurement. I make precision gages to measure anything (non-electrical). I work for Honeywell Int. making (measuring, rating)spark plugs for all sorts of engines. Must be precise and repeatable to .0001" and .oo5mm for customers like Ford (Motorcraft), GM (A/C Delco), Harley-Davidson (Screaming-Eagle), Autolite, and many others.
    Thats just my day job.

I play drums and we have opened for a few national acts, and have been asked to sign a contract with unnamed music label, but turned it down due to restrictions and financials.
First time dad of a 9 month old daughter. That is where I work. Someone take a nap for me please.

I work at a golf store lol. It may seem like a boring job, but it pays pretty well ($17 an hour).
