Does it come mainly from adult sites? What sites actually allow these people to cause everyone such a headache?
well it deosnt really come mainly from adult sites. Any site can contain spy/malware. Alot of the times owners of websites 'put' these malignant files on their sites so you can get infected and then 'transfered' to another site where you can download and buy their software to remove the malware. Its just a scheme to make money. Alot of the times however people upload these files just to cause harm to other people's machines. Rule of thumb: Keep all virus software up to date, dont surf or d/l suspecious files. For example you wont d/l a music file thats only 5kb in size or somthing thats named "File.exe"
What are some sites that definitely have spyware? It would have to be some shady people to allow that. Im assuming ebay or yahoo does not do that.
Hi smith. Just wanted to say that some programs will prevent malicious sites from getting to you, like Mcafee Site Advisor, or Firefox 3's built-in fraud prevention. Also, SpywareBlaster and Spybot's Immunization feature help block these sites. Best Regards
hes right. site advisor is pretty usefull. It tells you if the site you are on is trusted or not or if the site you about to go on is trusted or not. usually adult sites, hate sites or any site where their pop ups say that you have a virus in your pc. Its really hard to say which sites have spyware. Just try to stay away from suspicious sites and you will be find. If you get infected make sure you have your anti-virus software up to date and you will be fine.
Check these out……………. They will Block the bad sites instead of just telling you which ones are bad, like Site Advisor.. • Spyad <= IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads (Malware, Cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites. • MVPS Hosts file <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know Malware sites etc. Basically, this prevents your computer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer With these in place you won’t get pop-ups or drive by Ads and you can’t even go to the Bad Sites… Click on the links and Read.. Like my signature says….. Three kinds of men. Don't be No.3 ......... LOL 2OG p.s. Remember nothing is perfect….. but, an ounce of Prevention is worth a Pound of Cure…
