I have toshiba laptop P30 withwin xp sp2 and purchased the Norton Ghost hopng to have a full backup... OS, drivers, data, everything for a full and complete backup... installing was difficult to say the least since I'm a newbie. Norton would help install for another $30.00.. no way... then I checked out online service and I find out that norton ghost has several problems with xp sp 2.. since I didn't really understand all the steps I returned online.. I mentioned Roxio program earlier and Backup My PC which requires floppy drive...an answer was to install OS after crash then BUMP to install the rest.. wasn't sure if this would really work.. has anyone tried this method ? Is there and program that simply backs up completely...?
I use Norton Ghost 2003 and had no problems installing or using under SP2. Have used it to image my system drive and restored images also. Works great. I have copied the images to DVD and restored from that. What Ghost version have you tried and what problem are you having during install? maybe something here will help.
