I needed a link to download the whole application (Megauplaud and rapidshare links are acceptable, but bit torrent isn't

I asked this a couple of months ago, I suggest you either buy windows xp media center edition or download windows 7 beta for free (which has MC in it)

How about trying XBMC ?, it's been ported to Windows (and a few other OSes) fairly recently, it's known as Atlantis (version 8.10).

It's only 82MB ~ http://xbmc.org/download and takes all of 2 minutes to install and the only thing to configure is the default region ie UK or wherever, the Weather page and an SMB network source.

    Example pic ~

    Thanks!

It's really cool! I was just wondering if it can show and record live T.V via a t.v tuner card?

media center is not a software but an os. it's rubbish anyway, it's the same as any other software media center. cyberlink has one, as a matter of fact cyberlink and windows media center look almost exactly the same. but i think cyberlink's is better from experience

You need to pay money to get ciberlink's media center. I needed a Free media center.

By the way, xbmc didn't work on my pc for some mysterious reason. when I start it, it shows an error.
    But thanks anyway!

christv is free basic tv tuner software. You can try the demo's of sagetv or beyondtv these are full feature PVR software with livetv and schedule recordings (better than windows media center). Mythtv is too complicated for non-tech people but it's free.

You have to "pay" for the best software but it's a one time fee and you get the tv listing guide that's updated everyday. I've used sagetv for the past 3 years (cost 79.00) It's been working non-stop 24/7 never crashes. I have 3 pci tv tuner cards (pvr-150) installed in my computer (records 3 tv shows at the same time). It's a good investment if you like to watch alot of TV.

Just make sure you have tv tuner cards with built-in "hardware mpeg encoders", otherwise even the best PVR software will have trouble recording "liveTV" smoothly.
