Got an old xbox 360 with a hitachi drive in it model gdr-3120lrom version 0047dj as well as a samsung xbox ms25/ 28 one or the other. problem is the samsung drive died wont read discs andwashopeing i could use the hitachi drive. From my understanding you need akey from samsung pcb and then flash hitachi drive with it. But where do i start? so many tuts but i dont want to brick themachines up. So can anyone tell me.. Do this do that and that should work etc? thansk in advance Dave
Dump the firmware for both drives (incase you want to use the XBOX that original had the Hitachi). There is a tutorial in Jungle Flasher that explains how to flash Key and Data to the Hitachi Drive. Basically you need the Samsung key and will have to flash that sector to the Hitachi drive. You will also have to flash the spoof data to the Hitachi. Review pages 66-73 of the Jungle Flasher tutorial. Personally, I would recommend buying a BenQ and spoofing your Samsung key to it. The process is a lot easier and the BenQ drives are better than Hitachi (in my opinion).
