bought a couple off Model gadget and i aint using them again !

so many places on the net that sell them and the prices seem quite varied ?

dont want to buy the cheapest one and then end up with nothing or some clone carts that dont work , but on the other hand dont want to pay over the odds for them ?

where have you lot had good experiences from ?

just ordered from R4deals.co.uk . ordered tuesday night and nothing has turned up yet but they emailed me friday evening syaing the having posted my parcel ?

Hello. I've had very good experiences from www.realhotstuff.com. I now own 3 which have all been bought from this place. They've got great deals and offer free shipping if you purchase with microsd. Hope this helps.

Can I ask why do you even want to buy R4?

So many fakes and clones out there. The real ones aren't supported anymore.

There plenty of DS carts that cost half the price of an R4 and do twice as much of an R4.

If your friends are telling you to get an R4 you need to smack them for being fanbois for a dead DS cart.

Recommendtions: if you want to be very cheap, get a DSTT. If you want something better get an Edge. If you want the best, get a CycloDS Evo.

Order from dealextreme and expect 10 to 14 days to arrive.

Buy from dealwoot and expect normal USA 1st class shipping or priority if you upgrade.

Personally I'm all for CycloDS evo. I mean I know how your getting your games. Play 2 or 3 games and it pretty much paid off your DS cart + a 4gb microSD card. Play 30 games and think how much money you have saved. That $30 difference means nothing at all in the end.

If your rather not drop $48 bucks for a CycloDS. Then get the Edge. Edge is like the CycloDS clone (with a few missing CycloDS features).

Search Top Toy DS - DSTT on Youtube. you'll find tons of reviews...

Dealextreme is a good place to get flashcarts from (so I've heard ) but I've heard there shipping is slow...

I've ordered from realhotstuff in the past and had good luck....

Homebrew and R4 do not really go hand in hand. They can just play roms and pretty much that is it.

One of the many things the DSTT has over the R4 for example is the SDHC capability. Real R4 can not do SDHC meaning they have a 2gb microSD limit. DSTT can use microSDHC cards and have the potential to go up to 32gb.

I seen fake R4s having SDHC but quality still overall is the same.

    -----------

If you order from dealextreme it will take roughly 10-14 days to arrive. Your trading price for patience.

If you need microSD here is some links.

(lame. They went up from $10 t0 $13).

All these Kingstons are made in Japan. I notice their prices jump up and down on the 4gb and 8gb. Lowest I seen was about a two weeks ago (4gb at $10 and 8gb at $20).

Check slickdeals.net once in a while to see if 8gb at $16 or $17.

Wow. Seems though newegg is having some great prices on Kingston + free shipping.

    2gb list:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...escription=&Ntk=&SpeTabStoreType=&srchInDesc=

    4gb and higher microSDHC list:

    ----

Also you might want to consider this deal:
    http://www.dealwoot.com/index.php?target=products&product_id=29850

Although cost is higher you do get the DSTT + 4gb (kingston) microSD + Hori screen protector (nice. even fake ones are uber good) + microSD reader. It seems though Dealextreme does not sell the microSD reader with their DSTT. And buying from dealwoot would mean USPS 1st class shipping or $3.99 more for Priority shipping. So at least you do not have to wait forever for your stuff to come in.
